Pluto In Retrograde - How Deep Are You Willing To Go?

As the planet of power and transformation, Pluto heals us by exposing the negative and most unpleasant aspects of our dark side that steal our power keep us from being all that we can become. Pluto can bring obstacles to light such as negative characteristics, family patterns, low self-esteem and negative beliefs that block our ability to manifest our heart's desire. Pluto brings us face to face with the truths that cause us to be our own worst enemies. It takes a lot of courage to face our inner demons, but Pluto's energies can give us the support we need to eliminate them if we dare to venture into the deepest darkness. Are you ready to take back your power?

Pluto went retrograde on April 4, 2009 and will remain so for the next five months. When we plan our spiritual lives around the wheel of the year, we typically use the winter months for the process of exploring the dark and making plans for the return of the light. Spring is also appropriate for this process - think of it as a sort of weeding your inner garden. Take an inventory of what no longer serves you and how it has affected you up until now. There may be issues that you're not ready to deal with. Think about how you can acknowledge and manage them in the meantime. Most importantly, visualize how you will feel and what you can accomplish once you've reclaimed your power.

Plan to do some of your meditation and journaling outdoors. Observing nature and noting how the earth and its creatures prepare for new growth can be very inspiring. Make a commitment to assist them by makng a commitment to living green.

Five months seems like a long time to deal with any one planetary influence. If you're ready to become your own best friend and fairy godmother, this inner work will be well worth the effort.

Thanks for reading.

Flower Essences For Gratitude And Abundance

I became familiar with flower essences about ten years ago through my chiropractor. He recommended Rescue Remedy to help with stress, chronic pain and depression. It seemed to help and I still use it from time to time. I've even used it with my animals. One of the strays I cared for showed up on the porch in terrible shape from a fight. I put a few drops on her food and she was completely well the following day.

Vibration Magazine has been online for a few years and now post in blog form. It's free and you can join their Yahoo group to be notified of new articles. This one is particularly timely for me: Essences for Gratitude/Abundance.

Recently an abundance of blessings and kindnesses have been showered upon me and I don't feel that I deserve most of them. I'm still in a state of numbness and shock and a lot of things aren't quite worked out just yet. Every time a negative thought filters in, I have to remind myself of how grateful I am.

Enoy, and I'd love to hear your experiences with flower essences, aromatherapy or other natural healing methods.

The Sacred Sigils, The Mighty Runes

I've been missing in action for quite awhile. The simplest explanation - and I apologize for the fact that it won't clear anything up for anyone - is that for some unknown reason I chose to let go and let the Tower of my life crumble. Sometimes, in order to rebuild we must destroy.

And as bleak as hopeless as things looked, somehow, and for some other unknown reason, the gods saw fit not only to "rescue" me but to give me yet one more chance to rebuild.

About twenty years ago, I was casually introduced to the runes through means of a reading. At that time, I had no idea that I would eventually be led to find and call home the pagan/heathen path. Around ten years ago, the rune Uruz came to me in a meditation. I had to consult with a learned Swedish Asatru friend to identify it - I only knew that it was a rune with no idea which one it was or what it meant.

Uruz is the "good health" or healing rune. Its energies include learning from our past mistakes, patterns and history, endurance, persistence, changes, manifestation and so much more. This became and has remained the rune that I draw upon for faith and strength.

But I get away from the runes from time to time. Motherpeace is the tarot deck that I resonate strongly with and have spent most of the last five years with, although I continue to wear runic jewelry and have many symbols of my rune, Uruz, throughout the house. I have known some very serious Asatru whose devotion to the runes has sometimes made me feel intimidated or inadequate to practice the path.

Just within the past month, when things were looking particularly dark, I ran across a few pieces of runic jewelry I hadn't seen in a while - a rose quartz pendant carved with Uruz and an Onyx pendant carved with Nauthiz (interestingly, a rune that represents resistance to the positive qualities of Uruz). The following day, I stumbled across the leather disk my late husband had burned Uruz into in one of his art classes that I planned to incorporate into a tribal belt as well as Freya Aswynn's Songs of Yggdrasil.

I knew that Odhinn and Freyja were calling me back home. The Norse gods see us as family, as equals, and once we have been claimed we are forever kinsmen. As I listened to Freya's CD in the car, I chuckled as I thought of what some people would think about my finding her reading of the Havamal and her Galdr chants very soothing.

Two years ago, I created a bindrune that included both Nauthiz and Uruz as well as Tiwaz, Algiz and Laguz. I planned to have it tattooed and consulted with a tattoo artist. She suggested a "scalpeling" instead and I seriously considered this since the runes are to be carved. I never did follow through, mainly for lack of money, and I didn't have any now. My memory of this intention was jogged by a line in Aswynn's reading, that the runes were to be carved on the back of the hand.

Now - please hang on to your expressions of concern. Believe me, I am the biggest chickenshit when it comes to pain and I'm not a cutter. But I did use a razor blade to carve my bindrune on the inside of my right ankle (the only place where I had a chance in hell of doing it straight) and the victory rune, Tiwaz, on the back of both hands.

The following day was the day I got an offer that I not only could not refuse but that would actually help two other people. And all I've given up is something I needed to give up quite some time ago.

I am still in shock and blown away. I have amends to make to several people and feel so undeserving of this blessing. I've recently wondered if I gave up on my future because I'm not destined to be here for much longer. But it has been given to me regardless of the mistakes I've made and I am reminded with every single selfish thought that even if I cannot make some things right or repay some kindnesses, I must pay it forward.

I'm still not quite sure where I'm going although it does seem that circumstances may still lead me to the desires of my heart. My damaged, traumatized and bi-polar/depressed mind is still afraid to believe that and I wonder what more proof could it possibly need?

Maybe this sums it up....it certainly seems to simplify it:

You have been oriented that you must pay a price in order to get somewhere, and in the process, you’ve come to believe that getting there must be really important, therefore, it must be your purpose. And we say, but if you’re not getting to joy, then you’ve gotten nowhere. Joy is really where you’re going.

What If It Was Always Easy?

Today's daily e-mail from The Universe prompted a bit of contemplation:

Would it be as much fun, Parthena, if you never stopped laughing? If there were never any clouds? If you were never challenged? If you were never alone? If you never heard the whole truth when it hurt? If you always knew what would happen, what to do, and where to go?

Or would you be like, "Beam me down, Bro!"

Abraham-Hicks also brings this up when referring to the Art of Allowing Both are elaborating on the concept that difficult times make us who we are. "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." I agree with this to a large extent. I've survived many challenging experiences and have been able to draw upon them not only to get through present challenges but also to help others personally and professionally. My experiences with physical disability and grief have given me an understanding of what the hospice patients I work with deal with so that I am better able than someone who has never been there to empathize with them. Some of these challenges have also turned out to be "blessings in disguise" and a great deal of my writing is based on these experiences. Without them I'd have a bit less to write about, especially since I'm not a fiction writer!

I do see one pitfall - the danger of becoming jaded or indifferent. For instance, the person who consistently gives to others but does not receive the same in return when they themselves are in need may eventually isolate themselves emotionally from other people, refusing to trust and enter into friendships or relationships. A negative cycle of belief is created when one works toward changing this expectation only to have yet another hurtful experience come along that proves the original belief "right."

This leads to very deep negative beliefs that are very resistant to change even with concentrated effort and then of course, the Law of Attraction would continue to bring this type of person into our lives. I'm at a loss to determine what, other than a strong series of unfailingly positive relationships coming into a person's life, could serve to correct this.

For some people, a crippling emotional disability called attachment disorder develops. Repetitive patterns of abuse and abandonment result in the inability to become close to anyone. Often, a person with attachment disorder develops a pattern of leaving the relationship or, more seriously, hurting the other person before they have a chance to hurt them. Frequently, there is an intuitive feeling that may or may not be based in truth that prompts the behavior. Those living with attachment disorder often come to accept loneliness as a necessary part of life but can also develop a strong sense of independence.

Just something to think about today in your dealings with others. Life is full of enough tragedies and challenges without human unkindness, cruelty and selfishness. The Prayer of St. Francis is a good guideline for all of us to live by:

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Money And The Law Of Attraction

"I Can Set My Own Standards for Financial Well-Being. . .

Once you are able to achieve and consistently maintain your personal alignment, a great deal of money will flow into your experience (if that is your desire).

Do not let others set the standards about how much money you should have—or about what you should do with it—for you are the only one who could ever accurately define that. Come into alignment with who-you-really-are, and allow the things that life has helped you to know that you want to flow into your experience."

From: Money and the Law of Attraction - Learning to Attract Wealth, Health and Happiness by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

I'm looking forward to this new book by Esther and Jerry Hicks. "Abraham" has graced us with much of his profound wisdom on the law of attraction, the law of allowing and the power of deliberate intent. I can't wait to hear what new insights will be shared.

I've been listening to The Secret in thecar regularly for about the past month now. One of the phrases that really stands out is that it's just as easy to manifest a million dollars asit is to manifest just one dollar. It is the concept of our minds seeing one as so much larger than the other that trips us up. Our belief system is locked into seeing a million dollars as a huge amount and a dollar as nothing, especially these days.

Another area that this gets into is our perception of how much we really want or need to have in order to live comfortably. Some want millions to spend on toys and cruises and homes and cars. Others, like myself, just want more than enough to pay the bills, keep things in good repair and most of all, to be free of worry about money.

Yet, we don't have to have money to be free of worry about it. I've been investing my energy into working with this lately. My mind knows that there is a constant flow of money and that I've always been provided for - but it insists on trying to dwell upon difficult financial times. The economy is its partner in crime although I have sharply curtailed my intake of the news. When it comes to exactly how much money would bring me up to that worry free vibration, I really can't put a dollar amount on it. The teachers and gurus say that we must be specific, but I find that very difficult. I've never had a ton of money so I honestly don't know. I simply visualize huge piles of cash that are never depleted.

These days, the majority of us are complaining that gas and groceries are going up and our paychecks are not. Despite whopping increases in what we must spend to cover the basics, we're not only getting by but the statistics also show that our spending on retail shopping has actually increased - Economy Is A State Of Mind

So many people talk about wanting to leave the rat race and work at home, yet never take steps in that direction. We're afraid of what would happen if we didn't have that paycheck - myself included. With today's gas prices, how much would we really lose? My commuting expense is about 35 percent of my take home pay now. If I were able to work at home, I'd have at least that much money in my pocket. I'd also gain by not having to own so much professional clothing, buying cold drinks from the convenience store and the car would even need fewer oil changes per year.

Your assignment is to figure out how much you need to flow into your experience so that you can achieve your dream, if that dream is working from home. Due Monday.

Backpack Injuries

I've been so busy! and have neglected this poor little blog. I wanted to share this important post from my other blog, Dreams, Visions and Reality

The Attack of the Killer Backpack!

This blog is on my to-do list but keeps getting bumped down by life getting in the way. Hope to be back soon!
